Rachel Leviss Speaks Out on James Kennedy’s Arrest and Past Allegations
Vanderpump Rules star James Kennedy arrested on domestic violence charges
On Friday, Dec. 13, Leviss, 30, shared a screenshot on Instagram from a TMZ article about Kennedy’s domestic violence arrest. Over the screenshot, she linked to her April podcast episode titled Bad At Love and wrote, “The amount of times I convinced myself that the abuse I endured by James Kennedy Georgiou was a ‘misunderstanding’ is sickening.”
Kennedy, 32, was arrested on Dec. 10 after police were called to his Los Angeles home regarding a domestic dispute. The Burbank Police Department determined it was a domestic incident, leading to his arrest on a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. He was later released on $20,000 bail, with formal charges still under review.
TMZ reported that a witness saw Kennedy allegedly become physical with an unidentified woman, though authorities noted no visible injuries. Kennedy’s girlfriend, Ally Lewber, was reportedly with him earlier that evening at a holiday party.
Leviss’ attorneys, Mark Geragos and Bryan Freedman, issued a statement saying, “This news is, unfortunately, not surprising. Rachel’s lawsuit outlines Mr. Kennedy’s history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse.” They also alleged that the production company behind Vanderpump Rules and NBC have covered up Kennedy’s behavior for years.
Kennedy’s attorneys responded by stating they are conducting their own investigation and expressed hope that formal charges would not be filed, emphasizing the absence of injuries.
Leviss has previously accused Kennedy of emotional and physical abuse during their five-year relationship. In legal filings, she described him as having “violent outbursts” and a history of substance abuse. She also detailed incidents, including one where Kennedy allegedly kicked her family’s dog during a Thanksgiving visit.
Leviss further claimed that Kennedy’s behavior was known by Bravo, the show’s production team, and cast members, but no action was taken due to intervention from Lisa Vanderpump, who allegedly protected him.
