Terri Irwin Shares Heartwarming Throwback Photos for Bindi’s 26th Birthday
Terri Irwin shared a heartwarming throwback baby picture of her daughter Bindi to celebrate her 26th birthday on Wednesday. The 60-year-old conservationist posted a touching gallery of photos on Instagram, capturing moments of herself and Bindi over the years, accompanied by a heartfelt tribute.
One of the photos featured Terri beaming with joy as she cradled newborn Bindi in her arms. Another precious snap showed toddler Bindi helping her father, Steve Irwin, wax a surfboard. Steve tragically passed away on September 4, 2006, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray while filming a documentary on the Great Barrier Reef.
Terri, who also has a son Robert, 20, included photos of Bindi working with wildlife at Australia Zoo and more recent shots of the mother-daughter duo hugging.
In her sweet message, Terri described Bindi as the “best” daughter and a wonderful mother to her own child, Grace, who is three years old and shared with husband Chandler Powell. She wrote: “Happy birthday beautiful Bindi. I have loved you from the moment you first came into our lives. You have brightened my every day with your ability to see the best in everyone and everything. Even in the most challenging times, you forge ahead with courage and optimism. You continue to be the best daughter, and now you are an amazing mama with a daughter of your own. Thank you for looking down from heaven and choosing our family 26 years ago. We were blessed with an angel.”
In response, Bindi commented: “I love you with all my heart. Thank you, Mum. I am so lucky to be your daughter.”
Bindi’s husband Chandler, whom she married in 2020, also shared a sweet birthday tribute on Instagram. Alongside a photo of them together, he wrote: “Happy birthday to the most incredible person I know. We have always said 26 will be your year and I truly believe that. Your compassionate heart will always be my favorite thing about you. I love you.”
Bindi replied to her husband’s tribute, writing: “Sweetheart. Thank you so much. You and Grace are my whole world.”
Bindi and Chandler tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on March 25, 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. They welcomed their daughter Grace exactly one year later, on March 25, 2021, at Australia Zoo.
