Alexia Nepola Gives Update on Her Relationship with Todd Following Divorce Filing
Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Nepola recently shared an update regarding her relationship with her husband Todd Nepola after he filed for divorce earlier this year.
At the 2024 Bravo Fan Fest, Alexia told PEOPLE, “Todd and I are trying to figure things out. We’re still working on getting better, getting stronger, and figuring it out because we really do love each other a lot.” She added, “We’re seeing each other and learning to love each other better.”
Todd filed for divorce on April 11, and shortly after, Alexia expressed her shock and heartbreak on Instagram, saying, “I am shocked and heartbroken Todd has chosen to dissolve our marriage.” Several months later, she revealed that the couple is no longer living together. “It’s good because we’ve had time apart. I think that helped us realize that we really do want to be with each other and we can’t live without each other,” she explained. “It’s just learning a way to deal with all of this.”
While they aren’t spending Thanksgiving together, Alexia said, “I don’t feel we’re ready yet,” adding, “He’ll be with his girls, and I’ll be with my boys. We’ll probably see each other later.” She emphasized that they are both mindful of not hurting their families, stating, “We all love each other, so it’s hard.”
Despite the ongoing challenges, Alexia remains close with Todd’s mother, spending time with her at the Bravo Fan Fest, where she shared, “She’s such a Bravo fan and I have a beautiful relationship with her.”
Alexia also opened up about how she’s navigating the situation by focusing on herself and tuning out external opinions. “I’ve always done everything from my heart. I’m a fighter. I just don’t quit,” she said. “I feel like he feels the same way, and we really do love each other. Relationships are tough, and doing a reality show makes it even tougher on our relationship.”
The divorce proceedings have been difficult to navigate while filming for season 7 of Real Housewives of Miami, with Alexia sharing that it’s hard to talk about something so personal. “This season for me has been so hard because I’ve had to talk about it and share it, and it’s not something he wants or I want,” she confessed. “But I’m on a show, that’s what I do.”
A few weeks after the filing, Alexia spoke to costar Marysol Patton on Ay Por Favor, Marysol’s podcast, revealing that she was grappling with the five stages of grief. She said she was left questioning, “What happened?” and emphasized that the split wasn’t due to a lack of love. “It’s just very sad, and I guess we couldn’t figure out a way to fix things. I was in such shock because I’m a fighter,” she said. “I was never expecting that. I thought things were good, so it’s been really shocking and I’m devastated.”
