Nicole Kidman Shares Intense Moment After Filming ‘Big Little Lies’ at THR Roundtable
During a roundtable conversation hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, Nicole Kidman shared an anecdote about an incident that occurred after filming “Big Little Lies.” She recounted how she threw a rock through a door because it was locked and she couldn’t get in. Kidman expressed that she had a lot of pent-up emotions and had never done anything like that before, adding that it ended up being quite costly.
She also mentioned informing her co-star Alexander Skarsgard and the show’s season 1 director Jean-Marc Vallée about the incident the next day. They were surprised, and she admitted she was quite angry at the time. Kidman reflected on the demanding nature of their work, emphasizing how actors often push through long hours without taking time for self-care.
Kidman highlighted the psychological impact acting can have, noting it wasn’t limited to her work on “Big Little Lies.” After filming “Expats,” she deliberately chose to work on a comedy to help manage her mental well-being. She stressed the importance of actors protecting their health to ensure longevity in their careers.
“Big Little Lies,” which premiered in 2017, is based on Liane Moriarty’s novel and stars Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoe Kravitz.
