Beyoncé Sets New RIAA Record for Most Certified Titles

Latest posts from Beyoncé

Beyoncé has achieved a groundbreaking milestone, as announced by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The music icon now holds the record for the most RIAA-certified titles by a female artist, with an impressive total of 103 certifications.

Her latest album earned a Platinum certification, while the single “Texas Hold ‘Em” reached 2x Platinum status, and “16 Carriages” achieved Gold certification. Additionally, her 2022 album Renaissance has now been certified 2x Platinum.

Beyoncé’s achievements extend beyond her recent releases. Her iconic collaborations with Jay-Z, including “Drunk in Love” (2013) and “Crazy in Love” (2003), have each reached 8x Platinum status, solidifying their legacy as timeless hits.

RIAA certifications are awarded based on sales milestones: Gold for 500,000 units, Platinum for 1 million units, Multi-Platinum for increments of 1 million, and Diamond for 10 million units.

RIAA President and COO Michele Ballantyne celebrated the achievement, stating: “This milestone reflects Beyoncé’s unmatched talent, dedication, and influence across genres. Congratulations to Beyoncé, Parkwood Entertainment, Columbia Records, and the loyal BeyHive for their unwavering support.”

This historic feat follows another recent announcement: Beyoncé earned 11 Grammy nominations for the upcoming 2025 awards, bringing her total nominations to 99—the most by any artist in Grammy history. Her nominations span multiple genres, including Best Country Solo Performance for “16 Carriages,” Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Miley Cyrus for “II Most Wanted,” Best Country Song for “Texas Hold ‘Em,” and Best Country Album. She’s also nominated for Best Americana Performance for “Ya Ya” and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her collaboration with Post Malone, “Levii’s Jeans.”

Beyoncé’s success comes amidst other notable music milestones. Taylor Swift recently achieved 6x Platinum status for her album The Tortured Poets Department, marking the highest certification for an album this year. Shaboozey’s hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” received a 5x Platinum certification, earning him the top certification for a Class of 2024 artist. Billie Eilish also had a standout year, earning 10 certifications for her album Hit Me Hard and Soft, with its singles racking up multiple Platinum and Gold accolades.

Looking ahead, Beyoncé will perform at the NFL Christmas Day Halftime Show during the Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens game, which will stream live on Netflix. This performance will set the stage for the Grammy Awards on Feb. 2, 2025, where her extraordinary achievements will likely be celebrated further.
