Renée Zellweger and Ant Anstead Step Out Together at London Premiere Afterparty
Renée Zellweger had her biggest supporter by her side at the London premiere afterparty of Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy on January 29.
The 55-year-old actress was accompanied by her boyfriend, Ant Anstead, 45, as they attended the celebration following the screening. Zellweger stunned in a pink strapless gown paired with red pointed-toe heels, while Anstead looked dapper in a dark gray three-piece suit. The couple, who have been together since 2021, were seen smiling and holding hands as they walked through the streets.
Zellweger and Anstead first met while filming Celebrity IOU Joyride and have been together ever since. Their romance was confirmed in 2021, shortly after Anstead finalized his divorce from Christina Haack. A source previously told PEOPLE, “Sometimes two people just meet and click, and the timing is right. Renée is creative, smart, and thoughtful—she’s always looking to expand horizons and support those around her.”
During an interview with the BBC at the London premiere, Zellweger admitted she was struggling with the idea that the Bridget Jones series might be coming to an end. “Let me live in denial for a little longer,” she joked, adding that she still had her “fingers crossed” that Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy wouldn’t be the final film in the franchise.
The upcoming movie, based on Helen Fielding’s novel, follows Bridget as she navigates life as a widow and single mother while stepping into the world of modern dating. She finds herself caught up with a charming younger man while also managing work, parenthood, and school politics. The story explores her struggles with judgment from “perfect mums,” concerns about her son Billy, and her complicated interactions with his pragmatic science teacher.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will be available to stream exclusively on Peacock starting February 13, 2025.
