Thomas Rhett and Teddy Swims Deliver Show-Stopping Medley at CMA Awards
Thomas Rhett and Teddy Swims captivated audiences at the 2024 CMA Awards on Nov. 20 with a soulful performance. The duo delivered a medley of their recent collaboration, “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman,” and Swims’ chart-topping hit, “Lose Control.”
Dressed in matching all-black outfits, they brought energy and emotion to the stage, blending the two tracks seamlessly. “Make your heart start to beat/Make you sweat, make you dream,” they sang in perfect harmony.
Originally released as a solo track on Thomas Rhett’s About a Woman album in August, “Somethin’ ‘Bout a Woman” was reimagined with Swims for a Nov. 15 release. Rhett shared his excitement about the collaboration, describing their “instant musical chemistry” when they first connected in 2020 through producer Julian Bunetta.
Swims expressed his gratitude, calling Rhett “a legend” and saying, “It’s an honor to join him on this track.” The pair has previously worked together on “Broke” (2020) and co-writing “Angels (Don’t Always Have Wings)” (2023).
Ahead of their performance, the duo posted a playful video on Instagram, dancing and jamming to their collaboration. Rhett teased fans with the caption: “Only one thing that makes me do this kind of dance… See y’all tonight @cma #CMAawards.”
The 58th Annual CMA Awards aired live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena and is now available for streaming on Hulu.
