Gypsy Rose Blanchard Celebrates Baby Shower as She Prepares for Motherhood – as it happened
Gypsy Rose Blanchard recently celebrated a significant milestone as she prepares for motherhood. The 33-year-old hosted a joyful baby shower in Louisiana on Saturday, Nov. 16, surrounded by her boyfriend, Ken Urker, and about 25 friends and family members. The event, held at LARC’s Acadian Village in Lafayette, was a celebration of love and excitement for their soon-to-arrive baby girl, Aurora Raina Urker.
Blanchard expressed her happiness, sharing how meaningful the day was for her growing family. “Ken and I were thrilled to celebrate with our community and show our daughter, Aurora, how welcomed and loved she is,” she said. “Our goal is to provide her with all the happiness a child should experience.”
The baby shower featured a variety of thoughtful details, including catering by Chef Rusty of Rusty’s Seasoning, who provided delicious treats alongside confections from Dipped’ by Ryder. Guests enjoyed pink-and-white-themed desserts like chocolate-covered pretzels, dipped Oreos with baby-themed designs, and cake pops. Sugar Mama designer cookies added a special touch, including a cookie featuring a 4D ultrasound image of baby Aurora.
The decorations, provided by Blown Away by Kayla, perfectly matched the pink-and-white theme, showcasing charming baby clothes and an elegant stroller display. Blanchard complemented the decor by wearing a pink floral dress from Show Me Your Mumu.
The event was attended by loved ones, including her sister, Mia, and stepmother, Kristy. Although her father could not attend due to work commitments, Blanchard noted she felt “supported and happy” throughout the celebration.
Blanchard particularly enjoyed the games, calling them the highlight of the day. One memorable activity involved guests guessing the size of her belly using yarn, which brought plenty of laughter. Among the thoughtful gifts, an art piece crafted from Aurora’s heartbeat, created by artist Rebecca Brewer Rivers, stood out as her favorite.
Blanchard, who is also filming a new season of Gypsy Rose: Life After Lockup, shared her excitement about motherhood, stating, “I’m looking forward to giving my daughter a happiness I never experienced growing up.”
Blanchard and Urker, who rekindled their relationship earlier this year, revealed the pregnancy in July. They clarified paternity earlier this month, confirming Urker as the father. While the couple has discussed marriage, their primary focus is on raising their daughter together.
