Marisa Tomei Praises Tom Holland and Zendaya’s Growth and Talent in Spider-Man Films at Fan Expo 2024

Marisa Tomei recently expressed her admiration for her younger co-stars, Tom Holland and Zendaya, who played pivotal roles in the latest live-action Spider-Man films. During a panel at Fan Expo 2024 in Toronto, Tomei, who portrayed Aunt May, fondly spoke about watching Holland and Zendaya grow both personally and professionally.

Reflecting on her time working on the Spider-Man trilogy, Tomei said, “One of the best parts was watching Tom and Zendaya mature and witnessing their incredible talent. I was blown away from the very start… Some people are just meant for it, and they are definitely meant for it.”

Tomei went on to praise Holland, who played Spider-Man and his alter ego Peter Parker, and Zendaya, who portrayed MJ Jones, Peter’s love interest. “They possess enormous star power, yet they manage to stay grounded. They’re multitalented—they can sing, dance, act, perform stunts, and even design fashion. It’s amazing what they can do. They are truly incredible people.”

The three actors appeared together in three Marvel movies: Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021). The franchise has been a massive success, grossing over $1.5 billion at the box office.

Holland and Zendaya were 21 and 20 years old, respectively, when the first film premiered, and despite their young age, they had already achieved considerable success in their careers. The two formed a close bond on set and confirmed their relationship in 2021.
