Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden Marry in Intimate Scottish Ceremony

Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan married her “Mary Queen of Scots” co-star Jack Lowden in a low-key ceremony in Scotland. The couple, who reportedly started dating after their 2018 film, tied the knot over the weekend of July 20 at the Edinburgh Central Registrar’s Office.

According to the Scottish civil marriage records, the intimate wedding included only their closest friends and family. Rumors about Ronan, 30, and Lowden, 34, dating began circulating in December 2018 after their roles in “Mary Queen of Scots,” where Ronan played Mary Stuart and Lowden portrayed Lord Darnley.

In December 2023, Lowden shared a rare glimpse into their relationship with a New Year’s Eve mirror selfie on Instagram, captioning it, “NYE. Lang May yer Lum Reek. Be good, be bad, but fannies we are all.”

Ronan and Lowden’s private wedding reflects their preference for keeping their relationship out of the public eye, celebrating their love in a personal and meaningful way.
