Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia Finalize Divorce

Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev settle divorce

Artem Chigvintsev and Nikki Garcia have officially finalized their divorce. According to a statement shared with PEOPLE by Garcia’s representative, the former couple resolved their differences through private mediation, avoiding court proceedings.

While specific details of the settlement remain private, it was confirmed that both parties agreed to withdraw their respective domestic violence restraining orders to focus on moving forward and co-parenting their son. “Nikki’s priority has always been her son and maintaining privacy throughout this process,” the representative said. “She appreciates the support she has received during this challenging time.”

PEOPLE has reached out to Chigvintsev’s team for further comment.

The divorce follows months of legal and personal disputes. Garcia, 40, filed for divorce on September 11, shortly after Chigvintsev’s arrest on August 29 for suspected domestic violence. However, the Napa County District Attorney later declined to press charges. In her filing, Garcia sought sole legal and physical custody of their son Matteo, with supervised visitation for Chigvintsev. She also requested the termination of spousal support for both parties. Conversely, Chigvintsev, 42, responded by requesting joint custody, spousal support, and coverage of his legal fees.

The situation escalated with mutual allegations of aggression. According to court documents, a dispute on August 29 began in the kitchen while Chigvintsev was making breakfast for their son and continued upstairs. Garcia alleged that Chigvintsev tackled her, pinned her to the ground, and applied pressure near her chest, causing her to feel suffocated. Meanwhile, Chigvintsev claimed Garcia was the aggressor, providing photos of injuries he allegedly sustained. Both parties described the incident as a physical altercation that left them on the ground.

Restraining orders were temporarily granted to both Garcia and Chigvintsev in late September and early October. However, both orders were dropped as part of the final settlement, with the couple prioritizing their roles as co-parents moving forward.
