Harnessing Magneto’s Power in Fortnite: A Guide to the Magneto Power Item
Magneto, the powerful nemesis of the X-Men, has made his way to the Fortnite island, bringing with him the Magneto Power item. This new ability allows players to wield the magnetic strengths of Magneto in Fortnite Battle Royale, offering a fresh and exciting element to the game. As with all new collaborations, the Magneto Power item promises to shake up the Fortnite meta, especially in a scene currently dominated by vehicular combat.
To obtain the Magneto Power item, players need to head to Brawler’s Battleground and purchase it from Wastelander Magneto for 400 Gold. While it is possible to find this item as random loot or in chests, the RNG is unpredictable. Therefore, buying from Wastelander Magneto is the only guaranteed way to get the item, although he only stocks one at a time, prompting a rush to his location.
The Magneto Power item offers significant utility in gameplay. It grants players immunity to fall damage and a low-gravity effect when jumping and falling, with 5 charges that refresh every 8 seconds.
Using R2/RT/Left Click, players can fire a high-speed ball of metal toward their reticle, with infinite ammo and seemingly infinite range, though shots must be angled to account for drop. The damage stats are:
- 415 damage to vehicles
- 95 damage to opponents
By pressing L2/LT/Right Click, players can summon a metallic shield to block incoming damage. While the shield’s durability is shown by purple brackets around the reticle, it is relatively weak but can be replenished by releasing the Block button.
Additionally, combining the Magneto Power with Nitro Splash provides a significant speed boost while attacking in the air, giving players an edge in mobility and combat.
