Nicole Kidman Confirms Third Season of ‘Big Little Lies’ in the Works
Lead star Nicole Kidman has confirmed that the third season of “Big Little Lies” is in development, revealing that author Liane Moriarty is penning a new book for the series.
In an interview with Vanity Fair alongside former co-star Reese Witherspoon, Kidman expressed excitement about the upcoming season, urging fans to stay patient for its release. The show, which revolves around four women in a wealthy Californian town whose lives are upended by a murder, has garnered widespread acclaim.
Kidman emphasized the importance of not discussing projects prematurely, citing the psychological phenomenon of feeling accomplished merely by talking about them.
Both Kidman and Witherspoon, who portrayed Celeste Wright and Madeline Mackenzie respectively, reflected on the show’s unexpected success. Initially conceived as a limited series, “Big Little Lies” defied expectations with its shifting tone and captivating storytelling.
Witherspoon admitted to initial doubts about the show’s potential audience, only to be pleasantly surprised by its reception. The first season debuted in 2017, followed by the second season in 2019.
