Maren Morris Comes Out as Bisexual and Celebrates Pride Month
Maren Morris recently came out as bisexual on Instagram on Sunday, June 9, by sharing photos from her latest concert. The 34-year-old music star celebrated Pride by captioning a slideshow of photos from her RSVP Redux tour in Phoenix, Arizona, on Saturday, June 8, with, “happy to be the B in LGBTQ+ happy pride đ.” Some of the photos show Morris waving a Pride flag.
Morris finalized her divorce from country singer Ryan Hurd in January, three months after filing. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, a Nashville judge granted the divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences, and upheld their property settlement and prenuptial agreements. Hurd is required to pay Morris $2,100 in monthly child support for their 4-year-old son, Hayes, with shared custody arrangements.
Morris and Hurd were married for five years, having met in 2013 while co-writing the Tim McGraw song, âLast Turn Home.â They began dating in 2015 and married in Nashville in 2018. In a 2019 interview with Us Weekly, Morris mentioned, âWe were paired together six years ago to write a song. We didnât know each other and it just kind of grew from there, so music has always been really intertwined in our love for each other.â
Post-divorce, Morris is focusing on herself and enjoying her single life. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly in February, Morris said, âI feel like for so long, just being an artist and taking care of a lot of people on the road, you get so used to being the boss. I sort of lost sight of truly taking care of myself. I feel like this is just a perfect moment for me to make that statement.â She added that sheâs embracing her singlehood and learning to enjoy her own company.
Morris is not the only celebrity to come out this Pride Month. AEW wrestler Bulk Bronson also announced that he is bisexual in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, June 3.
